Sizzles and Sound Design

Sizzles are everywhere! Internal, external, on the stove, TikTok, etc. Here are some that I've done because the new video landscape has a short attention span and I enjoy quick fun things.

Sound is possibly the most important part of any video edit (even Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin had music!) so I like to take the time to add the little things.

These are all examples of sizzles and/or pieces with full sound design.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Announcement

This project was a fun creative exercise in making something that is seemingly innocuous - a ball rolling around in sand - and create a story of an evolving symbol that ultimately reveals the name of the new map in an update to Call of Duty.
Even though it was a small landscape, I wanted the viewer to feel like they were following this thing around in the middle of the desert, through both color and sound.

Choose Your Fighter: Xbox Elite Controller

I had so much fun creating the sound design for this piece.
I was given very little creative upfront, which meant I had an opportunity to take it and run with what felt right.
I ended up leaning hard into anime, which is a very interesting genre to play with because it is so bombastic and outrageous but also needs to be grounded to give the characters weight.
That was the trick here: making it feel like two controllers were interacting with each other and the environment, so the little details mattered.

Playtika: Merge Stories

This project seemed like a simple fun ask at the beginning, but soon we realized there were some complications:
The video we received from client had music baked in, which meant that none of the sound effects could be used!
I had to recreate everything using a mix of library sound effects and some isolated sound effects the client supplied, which ended up working very well in my humble opinion!

Brightburn Trailer

I had so much fun with this project because I'd always wanted to do horror work - and this one allowed me to go nuts because all the footage had music and VO baked in so I dug into my library of sounds and created a fun little horror ride!
